Hey all, I find myself in an interesting predicament. A couple of years ago I needed new steering wheels for my '02 Tundra and found a set of used knuckles with brand new OEM UBJs and pre-welded gusset reinforcements for pretty cheap. Score!
Fast forward to today when I am finally getting around to installing aftermarket UCAs to correct the geometry and I realize I can't press the Ball Joints out with the gussets in place. Has anyone come across this issue? I know that Total Chaos intends these to go on with their uniball, which wouldn't be so much of a problem. Is my only option to cut out enough of the gusset to get a receiving cup in there and then weld it back up?
TIA
