has anyone been over Red Cone lately? I was wondering about the “gate keeper” and how difficult (or not) it has gotten.

Thanks

I was there a couple weeks ago. It's not terrible, lockers help, but my friend with an open dif made it just fine.

Thanks.
I maybe heading up with some kids in Tacos and 4skinners with barely over stock configurations! I think that their rigs are new enough to have all of the buttons that can be pressed?

👍 skid plates will come in handy. If any have the plastic steps, predator steps, or stock running boards instead of rock sliders they may be in for a surprise. 😆

If youre wanting to run Red Cone I'd do it soon, they are already getting alittle snow up there as of this week.
Yep. We were at St John's on Saturday and got snowed on a little.

Last time I was there @ 5 years ago we were there in the AM and it was icy. We waited about 3 hours and the ice melted.

The highs in Keystone (at much lower altitude) are in the 50's lately. Just keep an eye on the weather systems that blow through there beforehand, you should be fine if you use caution.

-[ "If you’ve run Red Cone in the past, you know what’s up. We know it can be a technical trail in places. This hasn’t changed. But some of the places have changed.
For instance, the big “gate keeper” with the large boulders you have to drive over, isn’t hardly a thing any longer. It’s simple to drive right over it.
But the switchbacks in the woods are super rutted out and extremely flexy. So if you’re not super flexy but do have lockers, you’re probably ok. I walked right through it this weekend with no lockers. But shorter IFS trucks with no lockers are going to have issues.
The rock garden is still bumpy, but not bad.
The descent from the peak isn’t bad. A couple dugout sections, from SxS’s going the wrong way in the one-way, do now exist but they’re not bad.
Over all, it’s still a very bumpy and rough trail."]-
