We have movement! I finally got the new rear bumper/frame support in. I mocked up the whole rear including new perches, hangers and angle supports. Hopefully by weeks end I’ll have fitment right and be able to bolt and weld it into place. After that suspension, axles, brakes and wheels/tires are done and waiting for install.

Question: should I just bolt the hangers to the plates, install suspension, axles and wheels and then weld them together? I’m not sure if that would guarantee they are in the right spot or if I should just use my long level to make sure they are plum with the other hanger?

Thanks,
Sean

My entire rear frame is all bolt on. Nothing is welded. No problems with it. The shackle plates and hangers are also bolted on. I had to notch the frame a little because the bolt heads are bigger than rivets.

That’s good to hear. I think that the route I’ll take. Do you have any pictures of how you notched the frame? Your talking about the bolt head where the hanger meets the plate right? I was almost thinking of just getting a longer bolt and drilling through the frame and bolting all three pieces together? Thanks

I just used a cutting wheel and cut like 2" X 1/2" out of the bottom side of the c channel while I had the rear crossmember out. Then the bolt head cleared. Sorry I don't have a pic.
