Rear camera (reverse) always on?? 2007 Land Cruiser

Reverse / rear camera on stays on. Typically on when in reverse only (duh). As if the transmission is in reverse (and it's not). Also, to add to the mystery, Check Engine light is on, VSC Trac and VSC Off light is on. Drives fine. 4WD works. Any ideas?

strictly based on the very small sample size of my singular experience - my guess for the CEL is code P1780. With the camera always on, power is going back to the ECM so it thinks the car is in reverse while the shifter is in a different gear, causing the code. That was my issue when I installed a backup camera and switch on my 98; fixed it by adding a diode between reverse camera and ecm. Can't begin to guess as to why you're camera has power all the time though
