It is amazing to see what a difference sway bar disconnects can make. I set it to play the video at the point where it shows the difference in real time.
Those look like they are the factory installed overlanding gear attachment points! If you are gonna post this vehicle to the 'Gram you have to have some of that sweet sweet overland gear. What is with the 'handles' on the front fenders? Are those tie-downs for your roof rack contents? They look goofy to me....
The limb lifters I think indicate Ford may have taken input from people with trucks or at least had a good market study. Regardless if they're useful or just for mall cred they're definitely something a bean counter wouldn't have the slightest clue or have added. I think this vehicle will keep Jeep up at night. Plus it's a new body-on-frame SUV (except for the Bronco Sport) and that's not a bad thing to see come to market. Maybe parts of this trickle down (up? over?) to the Ranger. Like that granny gear 7-speed stick and a factory 95:1 crawl. Hell to the yeah. Toyota better hope the Ranger doesn't get some of this. Hate to say but the dimensions of the Ranger are just slightly smaller enough that a WilderNest should fit real nice. What is with the 'handles' on the front fenders? It would be really cool if advance adapters made parts to adapt the 7 speed to toyota motors and tcase. Imagine having a 7 speed in a 80 series, fj40, 4runner, etc?
Unlike Toyota who only still offers sticks on TRD Sport and TRD Offroad in the Fords it's still old school "standard" shift. You get a stick on the base Ranger and only automatic with the higher specs. In the case of the Ranger it's only the base 2WD that has a stick actually. In the Bronco it sounds like you can go a-la-carte, so a base truck can be optioned with the 35" and lockers as stand alone. The Ranger is like that already AFAIK, you can get a locker on any trim as an individual option.I’ve completely assimilated to crawling with an auto. It’s cool but I wonder how many people will really order them with the manual. When I rebuild my 40 I have full intention of using a 6l80 behind a LS and gear the transfer case to match. There is zero chance I use a manual. (Manual valve body maybe)
That’s really the thing that excites me the most about it. Since when does an automaker allow you to choose whatever option you want at whatever trim level? I've gotta say a 2.7L engine w/ Turbo that has 400ft/lb seems so very nice after just trying to shoehorn 900 lbs of 1fz/transmission/xfer case back into the 80. All for max 212 HP
So what I'm gathering is we're becoming a Toyota club with a Bronco problem. 😂
I'm certainly hyped for that rig. And I hope that Toyota responds with something even better.
LOL. When I looked at the Ranger it seems more Toyota than the Tacoma, which stands to reason since it was Ford Australia that kept it alive and designed the current generation after Ford dropped it here in the U.S.I'm seriously considering getting one and putting Yota and LC badging on it and calling it a day
NO WAAYYYYY!!!! Some luck Ford executive I imagine. In Stapleton todayView attachment 87189
