Maine apparently has had some tweak to a state law that has sent their BMV after - of all things - imported Mitsubishi Delicas. Owners are reporting that they are receiving letters revoking their registrations and declaring that the vehicles cannot be driven on public roads, effective immediately. The Federal 25-year rules apparently have nothing to do with how each state decides to register vehicles like this.
This seems like a very, very slippery slope. I haven’t heard any state bills put forth in Colorado like this, but I can’t help but wonder if this idea will grow amongst states. JDM owners take note. Articles linked below.
