I had some aluminum lowers shortened and it was cheaper and faster to send them to Wide Open Design. They cut mine about an inch and threaded deeper and turned around back to me in about a week.
Seems like shops that don’t do this often really have a hard time with it.

oh no! does this mean the other arms are bent etc causing the death wobble?
No, but trying to see if going back to poly bushings on the frame side vs Johnny joints is the problem
A big enough drill press would work as well.

If the arms were straight it would be an easy lathe setup. Since they are bent they pose a work-holding problem. A slow drill should do the trick if you can find a way to hold the arms firmly. A large tap handle would be almost necessary too. I have some thoughts on how to hold the work and possibly a large enough tap handle.
