I just heard on the radio that these guys have been authorized to ship their first 500 trucks that have already been produced and are ready to go.

Yet another company beating Tesla to market with an electric truck.

Pretty neat! but kinda weak at first glance? 1050 pound payload isn't much... nor is the 200 mile range. 8000 pound trailering load is ok though, but shoot that tongue weight is gonna eat up a lot of the 1050... and I would suspect you're not going 200 miles with any of that. But it's obviously marketed as a work truck, so if it can get from Home Depot to the job site and back home again to plug in again it's hit the mark? I couldn't find a price, but admit that website is annoying and I got tired of trying to scroll for stuff.

Just don't expect to pull a 40 on a trailer to Moab with any sort of urgency, but same with any other EV for that matter IMO. I'm not sure this one would even make it around the White Rim trail, based on the Rivian experience here? Also odd they are psyched on the true 4WD, with 4 independent motors... but then it gets a solid rear axle? that seem like they are in opposition to me but what do I know...

and hey Joe Burrow's pretty popular in this household, so that's interesting.

I took a tour of the lordstown plant in the early 80s when it was owned by GM. I vividly remember an assembly line worker looking at me and said stay in school. Good to see it updated and still building vehicles

The really interesting thing to me is they use hub motors. That's pretty different than everyone else.

I can't find a price for those trucks anywhere. They're probably focusing on only fleet purchases for the first few years.
