Local Repair Shops - South Denver, Centennial

I'm looking for good repair shops that will still service FZJ80 Land Cruisers in the South Denver area (I'm in Centennial). Toy Car Care won't service anything prior to 1999.

We bought a 96 about a month ago and it won't pass emissions, even though we have confirmation that it passed in California right before we bought it. Both CO and NOx are a little high, which might just be an exhaust issue, but in case that is not the problem, I'd like to be able to take it to a place that works on Cruisers nearby.

It's been years since we lived down there but Comprehensive Car Care on Evans a few block east of Downing I felt was a decent everyday shop for Toyota and Honda. They didn't do specialized work, just regular troubleshooting and repairs. Back in the day the owner, a dude named Jim or Mark I want to say, had a FJ40. I'd have them do work on my 1991 pickup occasionally as well as our 1996 Civic at the time. Mind you this has been 14+ years ago so nothing like a current endorsement.

Thanks Dave, I used to use these guys and they were great. They had a Land cruiser specialist that would even work on my 60. For probably the last 5-6 years, they stopped working on my cruisers ('86, '97, and now the '96).

Do you have the emissions report? There are lots of threads on 80s and emissions, it might be a simple fix (cats, O2) that an exhaust shop might do.

The CATs are the Magnaflow cats that we see all to frequently with the 80s that need these replaced. I have the same ones on my 97 and they are fine, but this could potentially be it.

Try A & H Auto Care. I've had them work on out Toyota minivan and our old Infiniti sedan. Don't know if they work on older Toyotas, but they are honest and fairly priced.

+1 for Scott at AA Performance Muffler. They did great exhaust work on my Tacoma and my LX450. Reasonable prices too.
