Met up with Katie for a day out on the trail while @DomOfTheDead was at Overland expo volunteering with Sam for Stay The Trail. We had a great time absorbing the views and enjoying the cooler weather. We took our time at view points to talk about life, trucks and just everything else.
Learning Knitty’s quirks on the highway and off and developing a lot of trust in the old girl. She did immediately barf a bunch of coolant once I got home but she also did bring me home safely without overheating. I think she’s a little cranky about being taken out of retirement. This was my first trail by myself in my own truck without Dom ahead of me somewhere. Leaning into the skill set I have learned over the past several years. I think just trusting myself. I’m extremely grateful every time I am behind the wheel because she was such a group effort to get to this point. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in someway towards her success.
Big thanks to Dom for putting in a new starter for me so I didn’t have to take his truck today.
