Hi All,

I said when I reached my 100th paid diff, I would go legit. I know I've built a large number of diffs for several people in the club.

Well I'm only at 68, but decided to start one anyway. At this point in time I'm still laying low and building them out of my garage. I now carry some misc items, and happy to match any items found on justdifferentials website.

Because I'm doing this out of my garage, I can only handle center sections or axles/front diffs that you remove and bring to me.

Also on the horizon is an online retail space specifically aimed at recovery gear.

As of right now, the best way to get a quote is to send your details to jackson@jp4wd.com

I'm trying to stay focused on toyota diffs, but I'm equipped to handle 9" fords, Dana 60's, 70's, 14bolts, 14bolt drop outs etc.

Cheers!
Jackson

Wahoo, I can finally say who built the diffs in the 4Runner! D60 ARB up front & D70 Detroit in the rear with dual cases. Jackson does solid work!

I was going to recommend you Jackson when the other post came up, but I didn't know if you were actually doing them as a business. Congrats. I would recommend Jackson as well as the other two guys mentioned in that post.

Rear, not a front yet. The front is a bit scary. I have a freind that's been a mentor (built well over 10,000 diffs at this point), he thinks it's a bit unnerving to build it. The case is like $1100 from toyota if you break it.

Jackson knows his stuff and is very meticulous.

3 sets of gears and two ARB's setup for me. Daily driven. Hard!

100 series front diffs break

JP,
My 100 front diff seems to be leaking teeth and I'm exploring options. I have an ARB locker in the front that I hope is still OK, it was ARB'd and rebuilt with the stock gears about 50k miles ago.

Options on the table are:
-Hurry up and get some stock ratio gears back in there with an ARB refresh.

-Regear now and build both diffs, do the rear wheel bearing job, etc, etc. This would leave me ready to run 35's but cost more and maybe lead to more broken stuff down the road (I don't know when to say when) as well as more down time now.

-Slow road SAS and re-gear... but not really up for that right now was hoping to put that on the table in a couple of years perhaps.

Lets talk soon!

Bummer dude!! We can look at your Arb, they tend to fair well when you blow stuff up. Generally, a rebuild gets them into ship shape.

Happy to help in anyway I can!

I don't know, which is better? I was looking for an FZJ80 one if that makes a difference

Newer 9.5 is suppose to be a bit stronger (hearsay, I don’t have any personal testing to back that up). The case is a bit girthier, and there are more splines and a slightly bigger shaft. Your axles won’t work with new spline count. I’m guessing there is room on your current axles to cut them down for use in the earlier 9.5.

I’m having a diamond axle made to fit the 9.5 and 4th gen 4runner shafts. So sounds like I need an early diff. Late diffs were UZJ’s early are FZJ right?

Guess I’m on the hunt for an FZJ diff. Those 4.88s you mentioned, are they in good shape?
