Just got back down the hill and I want to thank Mike, Jay and Doug for running JC with Michele and I today....I had a blast.

Awesome run today. Thanks to Steve and Michele for leading the way and thanks to Mike for the excellent spot

Nope.....you hit snow on the trail by a camp area high on the trail. You can travel through the camp site site, where there is a trail, and rejoin the main trail. The trail is blocked again by snow at the top where RS installed the post and cable.....still lot's of snow at the top!!!!
Technical difficulties this morning with my camera.......patience.

Ok ..give me break on this ...first try with this flash drive video camera and software. (yes ..I had to add the shots of the belly cam and rear view going up/down the creek

UB - No way to get out the top at this point. There is a partially busted drift in the trees between the two stretches of post and cable and the big drift covering the last climb hasn't even been touched.
I considered trying to winch up but no time and there is still a couple stretches of snow on the top before you get back out to the main Moffat road.
There are more than a couple single tracks going through the trees to bypass that last climb
I saw the same thing last year. We need to put up more cable or lay some deadfalls in that area.

Tim, I can tell you that unless someone breaks the drift it will not be passable next week! I might get up there sometime this week and finish breaking the rest of the trail. Tuesday wheeling?

Looks like there will be some post and cable repair work for us later this year. Them drifts is hard on equipment! In so MANY ways...
Oh, and yes, by all means we need to block the singletrack bypasses. I assume... motorcycle. No one we know though, natch. Deadfall will not be sufficient to block it, but it will beat doing nothing.

Isaac I'm sure will chime in here but he told me at the last BRD meeting it was decided that they wanted us to wince the posts straight and back fill the holes with concrete. That will be a quickish repair at least but I think we all know it is not a long term solution.

Yes, that is correct.
They are not sold on our anchor solution, despite my repeated endorsement.
However, UB had a good suggestion on putting cable clamps at each post, thus spreading the load over more than just the end poles.
I changed the work day to the weekend before the rally. My apologies, but the FS has a packed summer, and its hard to get time on their docket.
