So I have this old African outback roof rack with six gutter mounts. It has some plastic “pads” that go between the gutter and the towers. Anybody seen anything like this? I have 5, not sure where the 6th went to. Any ideas on what to look for to find something similar to replace the lost one?

Good idea.

Anyone in the club willing to do a one-off job like this?

Or maybe this is the excuse I need to get myself a 3D printer. Which one would get this job done? I know some of you know…

I would offer to do this for you @subzali, but Jeff's skills are far superior to mine, and my printer is down at the moment because I am dumb and broke it while making another prototype for my seat block :-(

Are they rigid plastic? Yakima 1A towers used to come with soft rubber pads you'd slip on to prevent your rack from sliding down your rain gutter in a panic stop.

Geotech companies use a rubber disk as padding to crush concrete cylinders. I would think something like that would support the weights, dampen vibration and keep it from moving.

Depending upon the shape, slice some suction or oxygen tubing(or the like) down the center, slip it over the insert and lock her down. Might be worth it to do all of them.
Don't overthink this. I've used the tubing idea with good results. Also cut appropriate lengths of the door edge guards you can buy for a few bucks at Autozone etc.

+1 for tubing. Radiator overflow hose works really well... see around the 01:30 mark:
