It's been a few years since Iv'e been there. Same as other trails. It's more dug out and rougher and thus more difficult.

The first obstacle is bigger and different. I picked the easiest line. Got my front right up and that was it. Not really any more options except to pull cable. With belly skids to was easy. Coming down kinda got me nervous for a moment. But, after getting out and checking out the line a few times it ended up being ok. I more cautious when I'm by myself.

The rest of the trail was fun and took me longer than usual. It was much rougher and had some challenges but no more big obstacles.

The Lake was spectacular. I packed my belly boat and fished. It was cold and windy. I caught a few book trout and had a good time.

I have talk to a few of you guys that have this trail on their "to do" list. We should do it.

Grizzly Lake off Independence Pass? Its to cold now, but about 1/4 up the trail there is a campsite on the left on some slick rock type ground. Right across from that campsite is a awesome cliff jump into a waterfall cave canyon. You need to bring your own rope to climb out of the canyon. Its best to jump between 11am and 1pm or it can be pretty cold. This is not the same jump as the devils punch bowl that is on Independence Pass. Its a lot more intimidating.

I pinched my exhaust on that gatekeeper obstacle that you winched on, which ultimately led to me replacing the engine in my 80. But yeah, great trail with a beautiful destination at the end.
