That looks great Tim! I dig the low profile since garages are not built to accomodate higher vehicles!
How much space is between the roof and the bars at the lowest point? I am prone to overloading my rack with too much weight and will sometimes see a bit of a bow in my load bars (rubberized square steel Thule circa mid 90s). This is just a curiosity as it will be years before I can afford that gen of gx, and by that time, you may no longer support that platform🤣

Yeah it's close... like 1/2" or so and even a little less in places. It will be possible to get a U-Bolt around it for a roof box, but not much else... normal RTT attachments would be a challenge but should be doable still. There are a lot of "side" attachments for those extrusions now, which will likely be the easier move. But they likely won't deflect much, I forget the number but they're way stiffer than those older Thule bars.

Very nice! Seems that for the person who wants a RTT the low profile would not matter and a spacer could be fitted.

Ok here's one. As some here know the 2016 and newer LX570 has one major flaw, in that it's not possible to change the factory roof rack rails without first dropping the head liner. which leaves owners very few options when it comes to adding an aftermarket rack, or set of cross bars. So solve this, I developed a new bracket that mates to the factory rails of the LX570, and pairs with standard aluminum extrusion profiles, the most common of which is the 1x2 pictured below

Uploading my video shots now, hope to have the vid done shortly. I'm realllllly excited at how well this works- super low profile, wicked stout, it's clamped on there in like 3 different ways, with an optional 4th if you want to add some riv nuts to your cross bars.

once the video is finished I'll built out a new web page... this is 1 of 5 new products that I'm hoping to release before the end of the year, some of them (like this one) I've been working on for close to a year... really psyched to see this one bolt up today, and how stoked the customer is.

Oh that's very nice - I love the low profile!

Nice product, dig the video. Super nice solution to the annoyance of putting awnings on and off.

I have been working on a design for a full length FJ45lv wagon rack... custom with a bunch of Nacho lights across the front. Today I got it done, and then figured out how to make a quick animation in CAD. I think I'm going to try to incorporate this stuff into future videos... what do you think, is this stuff cool? or just super geeky.

My process is kludge though. make video in Fusion, export .avi to Wevideo, edit, export, upload .mp4 to youtube, publish... ugh. anyway, what do you think?

I think it's cool, shows how much time and thought is put into the rack design.

I like it Tim, allows me to see more detail than just static photos or installation videos.

Hmm… I could see doing this for some of the other racks/products…. If it adds value I can see it’s worth the effort

Ok here's one. Just refreshed this design for the upteenth time... calling this one revision 2.5

https://www.gamiviti.com/rack-receivers is the page, icing on the cake is I broke my website for a while... as I didn't like how I called it roof-rack-receiver in the URL since the product has a different name. If anyone knows how to actually add a URL mapping in Squarespace I'll buy you a beer.. I just can't seem to hack it. I read the directions, watched the video, only so many ways I can type /roof-rack-receivers.html -> /rack-receivers.html 301 and click save and it still doesn't work. I need to go outside for a minute... :banghead:

I decided to relaunch my 80 series dashboard inserts and mic holders...

if any member would like one, you can have one for free. Under the condition that you either come get it, or ask me to bring you one at the next meeting, and then post up to your socials the install photos. :)

edit: and yes, they even light up

Anyone want to add solar? I'm going to be doing a video for a roof mount on my GX (already have it on the Tundra) but could use another vehicle for an install vid particularly if you wanted to do a hood mount panel... I'll do my best to make it worth your while, let me know!

Hey Tim, I'm currently looking for a hood mounted solar panel to add to my 1st Gen Sequoia. I was looking at Lensun but would be open to hearing what you have. Here is a pic of my 07.
