finding a used engine?

where should I be looking for a reasonably priced used engine? I am looking to find a light wheeler of sorts, and I am really considering an older 4runner or pickup. You can find them pretty cheap especially with dead motors. I am thinking 3.4 swap specifically. Found a reg cab V6 speed with a badly knocking motor, all the rest seems good for about 1200. I figure I can swap in a 3.4 and have a good running trail truck for under 4 grand.

Any thoughts on where to look to get one?

Oleg can fix you up with a known good 3.4 for, say, 1200-1500 if not cheaper I would guess. Call him. My motor came from him and he was below market at that time.

thank you Bill. Contact info for him? I'm thinking a good condition truck can be had cheap with a bad motor and ORS has a pretty complete swap kit that looks to be worth saving the time and hassle to make it simple. Then a 2nd Gen 4Runner can be fun for a weekend daisy picker :)

Tell him I sent you, and that his motor still runs sweetly!

Bill,
Was'nt the Chili used to help prototype part of the 3.4 engine swap Kit offered by ORS ?

Yep, the crossover pipe. Version 2 works great.
