EB Issues Citation to Rugged Radios for Equipment Marketing Violations

Full Title:
In the Matter of Rugged Race Products, Inc. d/b/a Rugged Radios
Document Type(s): Citation & Order
Bureau(s): Enforcement

Description: EB notifies Rugged Race Products, Inc. d/b/a Rugged Radios that it unlawfully marketed radio frequency devices and directs it to take immediate steps to comply with the Commission's equipment authorization and marketing rules

DA/FCC #: DA-20-1395

Keep in mind guys that just because it's sold doesn't mean you're within your authority to operate a particular radio. These guys have been flaunting the rules for some time, using itinerant frequencies without a license, using frequencies allocated to other businesses, sitting on MURS, GMRS/FRS, marine, etc. If you have one of their radios it might still be alright to use for ham but probably nothing else.

And if they don't fix the violations within a certain period of time, it's something like $20k/day fines.

I skimmed the citation. @DaveInDenver if the Rugged Radio response becomes public when filed and you can post it here it will be interesting to see what they say. Based on the citation I'm not sure how they can defend their actions.
