Dear readers,

After nearly 25 years of operation, DPReview will be closing in the near future. This difficult decision is part of the annual operating plan review that our parent company shared earlier this year.

The site will remain active until April 10, and the editorial team is still working on reviews and looking forward to delivering some of our best-ever content.

Everyone on our staff was a reader and fan of DPReview before working here, and we’re grateful for the communities that formed around the site.

Thank you for your support over the years, and we hope you’ll join us in the coming weeks as we celebrate this journey.

  The site will be locked, with no further updates made after April 10th 2023. The site will be available in read-only mode for a limited period afterwards.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this. DPReview has been the gold standard of camera reviews for years. Apparently they were purchased by Amazon some years back, and now they are getting shuttered due to cost cutting. It's a stupid, ridiculous decision to simply close the site rather than sell it to a small business owner or something.

There is a petition on change.org. Not sure if these things do a bit of good, but I signed it.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this. DPReview has been the gold standard of camera reviews for years.

Perhaps that's part of the problem, I had to look up what they were. I'm not a good measure though since the only digital camera we have is a 13 year old Canon G12 that the battery no longer holds a charge. I never personally moved from my film cameras, which still do what I need as very much an amateur just making the occasional image to jog my memory later.
