I purchased a new project recently. It's a Cushman Turf Truckster with a 2 cylinder 22hp Cushman engine, hydraulics, PTO, nice machine. Doesn't run yet, and I'm trying to figure out why. The ignition switch didn't work so I hot wired the starter solenoid and got the engine to spin, but there is no spark - that's where I'm at. Attached are few photos:
The truckster doesn't have points - it has some kind of rotor that I assume provides the signal for firing. Then there is a remote box with coils that supply each spark plug. Not sure how to troubleshoot this system. Is this a Waste Spark system perhaps? The 2nd photo from the right below shows the three wires coming out of the rotor device. They must produce some kind of signal to the coils assembly. Any help would be appreciated.
