From Jared Smith.....

Howdy Folks! It has been awhile since the last time we all met hasn’t it? Well hopefully most of you will be excited to know we are kicking off our 2018 meetings next Thursday the 15th of February at 5pm here at the district office (same place as usual). Basically our agenda will pick up where we left off last season with just a few additions. We would also like to introduce you all to our new person. Hopefully we will see lots of you next Thurs! As always don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, comments or suggestions. It’s going to be another great season. Thanks!

Planning:
Ø Magnolia Non-Motorized Trails – implementation is on-going.
Ø No new updates regarding Lefthand.
o Lefthand Motorized Roads and Trails Project (what we all call Lefthand OHV – has been entered into the SOPA: http://www.fs.fed.us/sopa/state-level.php?co.
Ø Annual VSAs
Ø Discussion - COHVCO – what’s the possibility for COHVCO to sponsor all of our 4WD groups under a CCSA or special use permit? – Matt
o End of March is our deadline for Grants and Agreements.
Ø Status of our recreation program and our outlook for the 2018 summer regarding Adopt-A-Trail projects.

Training:
Ø No new updates but I know Jon is working on it.
Ø Chainsaw Training – No tangible updates, though I am working with our Fire program to get a class for employees and a few volunteers. I will prioritize my employees first, but we are looking at how to include a volunteer program. Right now it’s still pretty complicated, so allow me some time to work through this. It may not be viable for us to do in 2017.
