Access to Colorado's Roadless Areas Threatened by Radical Environmentalists!
Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,
SITUATION:
As you know, BRC members and supporters, along with representatives of the Colorado Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition (COHVCO), participated in the efforts of the Colorado Roadless Areas Review Task Force to craft recommendations on how to manage Colorado's 4.4 million acres of "Roadless" lands.
We participated in good faith, side by side with representatives of local governments, environmental groups, other recreational users and business groups, in order to craft a true collaborative compromise on the contentious Roadless issue in Colorado.
Sadly, or should I say - predictably - Colorado's radical environmental groups are attempting to destroy all the good work that has been accomplished and use their political power to push Governor Ritter to support their agenda - collaboration and cooperation be damned!

This crowd in Colorado talks big about collaboration and inclusive decision making. Now we see how seriously they are about living up to their agreements.
Indeed, earlier this week, BRC received a copy of a mass-mail alert from these groups encouraging Governor Ritter to scrap the recommendations made by the Task Force in favor of the top-down, one size fits all "Clinton Rule." We estimate the Governor received hundreds of emails.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Colorado state legislators who support the collaborative process, and who are willing to live up to their agreements, have proposed a resolution urging Governor Ritter not meddle with the compromise agreement.
Please email your state legislators and the governor and let them know you want him to live up to the agreements worked out in the Colorado Roadless Task Force compromise. Please take just a minute to send an email asking key Colorado legislators not to meddle with the Task Force's compromise.
