Hello my friends to the North.

I am going to be in Dolores from 6/30-7/7 and I would like to run over Imogene to Ouray, camp in or around Ouray for the night, then return to T-ride via Black Bear the next day.

My 80 has an OME 850/863 lift and I'm running 31" BFG A/Ts and I have a Ramsey Rep8000 winch. I hope that is enough vehicle for BBR.

I would like to find someone to go with if that is possible and if BBR is open by then. I read in the Telluride paper that they are really trying to get it open by the 4th.

Has anyone here any experience on BBR? Want to put something together?

Thanks,
Dave

This is the link I've always used.

Depends on how much snow as to when it opens. Sometimes early and sometimes late. It should open pretty easy though. One of the guys on our run last year worked trail maintenance with the county and they did a ton of work on Black bear.

Looks like they are all currently closed to Jeeps. What about Land Cruisers?

It's always worth a shot :lmao: I've always wanted to go down there right after they plowed/blew the snow and opened the road cause some of the drifts are like 15-20ft plus

As long as they are open you'll be fine in a cruiser as long as you aren't afraid of heights :)

I would rather meet up and go with someone that has done it before. You know, "Never Wheel Alone".

awww got me all excited with your first post ;) (although I didn't really plan to run BBR since the :Princess: will be along)
I'll be down in that area early next week....camping near Lake City on Sunday and Monday with plans to run the Alpine Loop on Monday with a little exploring on Tuesday morning before I head North toward Gunnison.
