Did a test run for both my brother and myself. I had my 1964 FJ45 short wheel base and he had his 1969 FJ40. We picked this trail since it's close to civilization and is a fun little trail. Had a bit of trouble with my brothers 40 right off the bat. He thought he was in 4 wheel drive, but at the first obstacle his front tires were not spinning. When he tried to put it in and out of 4x4 the cable pulled right out of the dash. It's the Vacuum style transfer case so all we had to do was disconnect one of the lines and blow into the hose. It engaged the 4x4 and we were off with power to the front and rear wheels. No other big issues to speak of. It was a great day on the hill.
Last time I ran this trail was in my built 40 and I'm not sure if things have gotten more rough, or it is just the vehicle I was in, but this time I had to pick lines very carefully.
