It looks like we are running banner ads from 2011 events?

Just saw these today:

We could swap them out with some Google ads and make a little money for the club. :bolt:

I think this is worth doing, personally. We could probably make enough money to pay for our web hosting annually. However, we need to see what the membership thinks before we make a big move like this.

Before we go full on Google, is there an easy way to make a few $ by pulling the ads from the MUD vendors over here?
They might seem a little more like our community...

It's a much easier process to just use Google AdWords and try it out than it is to assign someone the task of soliciting advertisers. We don't really get so much traffic that it would be an easy task to sell ads.

Last time we discussed this the club choose to cover the cost of the site over advertising to ourselves. But this was a while ago. Long enough that I was in attendance of the meeting:eek:

Personally I like the fact that there is not much in the way of ads on our forum. You know just mine, Slee's, Justin's, and the CM11 banner.

Sounds like we need to take a fresh look at this. Seems to me that running ads for Kurt for example who supports our club should take precedence over Safari that doesn't actually exist anymore and who is not likely paying for that add anymore anyway.

I haven't messed with the ad system in years. Maybe we should shut it off and start over.

Can you audit all the ads in rotation? There are some that link to dead sites.

I don't think any link to a dead site? safari may be out of business but their site is still up :hill:

Maybe you pruned all the dead ads previously. Might as well remove Safari, since it is kaput.
