I only got one picture. But it is the picture of my NEW CAMPING TRAILER! Found this thing while cleaning up a campsite and couldn't just leave it there😉🤫

Fun day and weather really cooperated once we left Denver. Good group and glad to be back out with the club after my 2 year hiatus (from selling my 80). Got to get the “new” scratched off the 10 yr old GX literally from some trees.

Aside from the joke photo, this was an amazing turnout. We flipped multiple sections of buck and rail (B&R) back up and one unit! Right after the forest service gent (Patrick? I suck at remembering names) stated that he and his co-worker would do it if we weren't comfortable with the work. They would have had to have taken it apart and rebuilt it. They would have been a long day. Now they can focus their efforts elsewhere with only minimal work on that B&R.

The system looked to be in pretty good shape. I eneded up with 1/3 construction trash bag of trash, left by trashy people. Everyone worked together very well and I was impressed with how everyone jumped to work as soon as we hit the trail. 👏

Great day! Thank you to everyone who made it out.. we accomplished everything we need to and then some, and really blew Patrick from the FS away with our preparedness and ability to work together. As in years past we split into 2 groups... a lower Leavenworth Creek crew and a higher road team. The low road gang patrolled all of the campsites down there, while the upper road team cleared many fallen trees from the road. We all met at Waldorf where some pretty serious repair to the buck & rail fence ensued. After the work was complete the group scattered, some explored further up, some wheeled, some hit the easy road back down... everyone paricipated and had a great time, and that area looks a lot better now thanks to our efforts.

We had about 40 people, I think 18 trucks, 6 kids, 5 dogs, and at least 8 cordless drills.. if anyone has a better count please post up. I'll put our trails hours into the log here.

On the way back down @AimCOTaco and I ran the lower creek route... and I sliced a sidewall in the big water crossing. Drove out of the water onto the bank without any issue, but we buggered up the threads on one of my wheel studs putting the new tire back on. So after 30 minutes of trying to "fix it," I drove off the trail and back home with 4 out of 5. So now I got that to deal with... pic of the stud:

It was a fun day out! I'm proud of our club's turnout and what we accomplished, so many many thanks to everyone who made it up yesterday.
It was nice to see lots of young people and some new faces on trail as well. Cool to see the FS handing out swag and connecting with the kiddos to.
We did get a lot of downed trees off of that upper road and made quick work of the buck and rail righting and repairs.

Thanks to Tim for leading and organizing this one again! Sorry I blew out that lug stud, I did find that 100's and 200's have interchangeable lugs.

We had a great crew on the lower trail -- picked up a lot of trash. Here are some photos of the whole crew at the Waldorf Mine. @FireMike, please send photos to the Ranger District!

After the cleanup was complete, @FireMike, @NotyourmomsWife, @sunshine_and_jack, @Mrs Hulk, and I drove up to see the Santiago Mill.

Then we drove a road that continued up and over the hill — until snow forced us to turn around.

Here's a sweet shot of @FireMike's 80 that might be calendar worthy for next year!

Awesome day thanks everyone. Sorry I had to bail early.

@nakman if it makes you feel better about the wheel stud I heard a clunk driving home and noticed that one of my lower control arms is broken. Its a Dobinson's adjustable arm and it looks like the threaded insert has broken. 99% sure it could not have happened on this run, must have been broken already and finally let go. I've been trying to track down a minor clunk for a few weeks now.

Solid work guys!

Was bummed to miss this but happy to see such a great turn out from the club.

Crazy to think that I got this trail adopted way back in 2004. Hopefully we can get another clean up day for later in the summer?
