Just curious if anyone has opinions here... I suspect the adage of you get what you pay for is likely paramount. but maybe there's a hidden gem out there?

@bassguy I know you have one... presume it's better than this? just wonder how terrible will this actually be, or will it be ok.

Uses: Karaoke parties, small public speaking, and vocal/acoustic jams. I already have a small mixing board and small portable amp, so gonna try both of those before I get anything else. Just curious about the mics for now...

@nakman - super late to the game here, however, I have quite a bit of experience with the audio world. Most of the time, it's definitely 'you get what you pay for' scenarios. I would try something like this JBL or if you want to spend more for quality, I'd go with a Sennheiser or Shure unit. I have a Sennheiser mic system that I'd consider selling, but I think the JBL would be a solid unit.

@nakman super late to the game - apologies! I'd agree with @Westward Cruiser - definitely a "you get what you pay for" scenario. IME, if you want quality mics (especially wireless ones), you need to pay for quality. I'm 99% sure those wireless mics aren't going to sound good at all, and I'm very sure that the wireless connection quality won't hold up beyond a few feet. The wireless units I used for past RS meetings are Xvive U3 XLR units - they basically just plug into the bottom of a regular mic (I use Shure Beta 57As or 58As in most cases, which typically run about $150/each). The Xvive unit goes for $220 on its own, and works pretty well, but then you're looking at at least $320-370 for just one wireless mic setup.
