In the spirit of trying to stay in touch with distant relatives, I purchased a web cam, the Logitech QuickCam Fusion. I convinced my brother-in-law to do the same.
I have the Logitech software installed and running fine. The new web cam works great.
I created an account thru Windows Live Messenger:

Tonight, my brother-in-law and I tried to connect. We're able to IM each other nearly instantaneously -- but no luck on the Video Call, which was the whole point of buying these things.
Problem: we're two n00bs trying to connect. We don't know on which end the problem exists, or maybe we both are having problems...
Anyone out there a regular web cam / video call user?
