Any ideas on an easy way to clean varnish and fuel gunk from aluminum? The machine shop says their engine block hot tank will eat aluminum. Something beside a toothbrush and degreaser, which seems to be a royal PITA. This is specifically my intake and plenum. The throttle body seems I'll be fine with carb cleaner, but it'll take 10 or 15 cans of the stuff to clean the intake.

Lacquer Thinner! Mag wheel cleaner works pretty good too but won't cut bad fuel stains. Best method is glass beading!

Simple Green BBQ grill cleaner. Spray it on let it work about 5mins then hose it off. Follow up with a run through the dish washer (when the :Princess: is not home) AL parts come out shiny new

That Honda is beautiful!

I'd vote for the Simple Green BBQ + marriage limiting dishwasher option.
Something similar worked wonders on my transmission cases...
Shhhhhhh!!!
