I think it was a record turn out of 21 FJ's. Everything went awesome until we were getting to the top of Kingston Peak. Then I started having fuel issues with my revamped Fuel Injection Fuel system. I was strapped to the big hill to the peak and made it up to the top on my own power

Then it died again and except for a few key pulls from Steve and his nice family I was able to coast from the top of Kingston Peak down the the I70 exit.

After waiting a bit to see if it would start I called AAA as towing upto 125 miles is free with my membership and had it towed home. My wife came and got me since they dont allow you to ride with the tow truck driver

I will post more later, I wanted to let everyone know I had a great day and me and my 40 are both home

Epic run!!! I think everyone has a story from today... drank over a gallon of water, still thirsty, I don’t know when I have ever been this dusty. This was a run to remember!

edit: added some pics

Outstanding event! I had a great time. I was shocked to see how smoky it was out there.
Ken, I’m curious to hear more about the root cause and fix for your fuel system woes. Glad to hear you made it home ok.

I think I drank 4 liters of water and still came home parched. Not sure I really understand how that happens...excellent turn out this year. The smoke makes me wonder if we should have slid the event back to leaf peep time
