It’s got about half life left on it. It’d be a good spare. I’ve upgraded to 255/85s. I’m in Lyons , CO.

I have it on Facebook Marketplace but not getting any interest so I’d rather just give it to someone in this group.

Ohhh damn this is really tempting. I'm running those same tires but 265/70/17 so they are basically the same size and my spare is a 16 rim and its dry rotted.

Yeah I would like them, only thing is I don't know when I'm going to be up that way next. MAYBE I could swing heading up there Thursday if I have a date up that way (lady I'm dating is in Erie).

I could use this! Put me on the list please. @rushthezeppelin let me know if you’re not taking it. Need it for Baja as a spare! Thanks!

Don’t feel bad at all. It is for my dad’s Tacoma. So maybe we can work something out? Same bolt pattern for Tacoma/4Runner.

Well. Let me know what you guys decide. I’m just glad it’s gonna get used by someone in this group!

The only work around I can think of is let Johnny Utah have it for Baja and then trade later.

Just let me know.

I’m anxious to get it outa my garage.

I'm okay with that idea. If you think it's fair too we can just swap spares that way it only needs to get mounted once. Mine is I assume the OEM spare rim for my 98 4runner. I assume pretty much all toyota spare rims are going to be the same on offset and lug pattern.

 Nope.

The spare from your truck has about 3/4" less backspacing than one from a 2003+ 4Runner or 2005+ Tacoma. Toyota differentiates the 16" steel spare wheels by changing the hole by the valve stem. On the 2005 and newer Tacoma it's an oval hole while on the early trucks all the holes are round.

If you're getting a 17" wheel from a newer FJC, 4Runner or Tacoma they're all round, too. That's because there was no option for 17" wheels on the earlier trucks. I think the backspacing is increased on those, too.

Now I'm pretty sure the newer wheels will fit over the caliper (pretty sure) on older truck still but your track might be changed and it's probably not ideal if you mix-and-match. Going the other way is no problem. I run 3rd gen 4Runner wheels on my 2008 Tacoma. Partially for the look but also to give me more room between the tire and control arm.

42601-AF010 (1995-2004 Tacoma) and 3rd gen 4Runner.

42601-AD030 on 2005-current Tacoma. Notice the oval hole.

Thanks @DaveInDenver , good points.

My dad is running 1st gen Tacoma wheels on his 2005 Tacoma. Like this:9918E7EB-BF12-4A4F-ACA3-CAAE10127318.jpeg

If we use @rushthezeppelin spare wheel from his 4Runner will it work as a spare?
