Information on this subject is scarce. Since this is the only forum im on i figured to post it for anyone needing info.
This is for a 1st gen rollbar to fit a 2nd gen 4runner. (A few conflicting threads outthere)
Not applicable to 3rd gens (lots of info)
But similar.
Measure 2 inches up on front legs, mark. Measure and mark at 1 3/4.
Cut mounting feet off of front legs.
Cut at your 1 3/4 mark.
Then test fit to your bed.
You will have to grind/angle the front pipes to fit the slope of the wheel well.
The fuel filter wheel well is angled differently.
Clean up mounting feet.
Slowly get your best fitment on the pipes then bring the mounts underneath.
I angled the bolts holes to the outside walls to avoid snags inside.
I chose to use the 2 factory tie down bolt holes that fit. I drilled and tapped it to be a bigger bolt.
Once positioned do your welds blah blah blah.
The back 2 feet on 2nd gen 4runners line up with factory bolts on the tie downs in the rear. Only one of the holes line up per leg.
The factory holes were used because of an angle that rises in the bed. If you moved the back feet any further you would be on a slope and not a flat. Thus needing modification to the rear feet.
As well the front foot on the fuel tank side could not go further due to some factory bolts and mounts related to the fuel tube cover mounting.
