Hi All,

I've posted this on Mud but putting it here to see if anyone local knows what might be going on.

I recently drained all my engine fluids so I could do a new rear main seal, clutch, oil pan gasket, etc. I also decided to rebuild my carb while I was at it. I followed pinheads youtube videos for the rebuild and did everything to spec as described in the FSM. I got the engine to start but immediately noticed some issues.

  1. Lots of white smoke coming from the tail pipe. I held a rag near it and it had black stuff on it that smelled like fuel. It's important to note that this did not happen before the carb rebuild, so I'm hoping it's carb related and not a head gasket
  2. Fuel leaking from the base of the carb out what I believe is the throttle plate pivot shaft (correct me if I'm wrong)
  3. Leaking around the manifold gasket
  4. A week later, it wouldn't start
Some feedback I've received already is:
  1. Carb overfilling
  2. Carb leaking internally
  3. White smoke could be condensation
  4. Black stuff from tail pipe could be from a rich condition
  5. Adjust the float
Anybody knowledgable about carbs that might be able to help me out?
