I just recently bought a 1963 fj40 and the distributor mechanical advance doesn’t seem to be working. I have been looking to replace the distributor but I’m having a hard time finding a replacement. If anyone has any experience with this I would love some guidance. Thank you!

They're serviceable. You can take it apart and clean the governor. It's just Springs, weights, shaft. Does it have a vacuum advance diaphragm?
