80s Only Run Trip Report and photos!

We had a great run today at Wheeler Lake! We met at the trailhead at about 9am, aired down, and were on the move by 930.

We were joined by myself and @JohnnyP , @nakman , @DomOfTheDead , @Doughboy , @Yarn Cruiser , @60wag , and @MileHigh80Guy. Six 80s total (and one jeep that tagged along on the back because he’s actually a Land Cruiser guy). Good meeting you Tim, looking forward to seeing your 40 in the future.

Wheeler lake trail was a pretty tough one. Everyone did great and all the vehicles made it up and down without any problems.

The weather was perfect, along with a few light showers throughout the day. We ended our journey at The Dusty Bottle Saloon in Alma where we drank some beers and shared a couple pizzas! (Thanks Angelo!)

I only took a couple pictures at the top but the rest of the crew and especially Brandi were taking lots of pics.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s pictures!

Omg what a day! That was a bit more challenge than I expected, but thankfully the 80 was up for it and the spotting/stacking was on point. The last time I ran something that hard was the Rubicon in 2008…. Anyway what a great time thanks again everyone for making it such a good day.

Great day with great people! Thank you everyone for letting me be the unofficial photographer today! We’re getting ready to look at the photos, which will be posted by Dom. It might take us a little bit to sort through everything. I took a lot of pictures. Here’s some from my phone!

It looks like I took about 2500 pictures today

I remember when I did this trail for the first time back in the mid 80's with my 84' mini truck, open/open in mid late June. Bowling ball hill normally has a foot or more of run off coming down it and you can't see the rocks and all you hear driving up is the rocks banging off the bottom of our trucks. We made to the last ledge just before the lake and at that time it was a 4 foot ledge that we couldn't get up and had to turn around. It's much easier now. Love that trail.

Absolute blast! Thanks to @Johnny Utah and @JohnnyP for planning and letting me tag along even though I couldn’t get my shit together, dunno if I would have been able to get my sliders on anyway (which I think everyone used yesterday) except maybe @DomOfTheDead who wheeled the shit outta that trail!

Rupert (the pug) was a welcome and required trail dog going forward @Yarn Cruiser !

Can’t wait to see the other pictures.

Everyone rocked the trail and showed me a thing or two… plus added to my parts list, my wife thanks you all for that!

We had some house stuff that has kept us pretty busy today so sorry for the wait. I'm going to make you guys wait a little bit more...we were about 1000 off in our initial calculations so I need to organize the photos so I can post efficiently and make a share drive with more to share. So here are some teaser shots. I'm not a pro and I don't edit things but I had a blast taking wayyyyy to many pictures.
