I recently bought a 76 Rustic Green FJ40. I'm a long time VW enthusiast. I sold my 66 13 window bus to fund the FJ. Below is the pic when I got it.

I have since, put a 2.5" lift from Redline Landcruisers and had the wheels powdercoated at Colorwerks. Also added the Kenda Klever 33's.

good looking rig, I had a 78 in the same color back in the late 80's and 90's. One of the many i wish I would have held onto.

That's a clean 40!
1976 was a good year for Cruisers -- first year for front disc brakes.

I replaced the seats with a darker color without the previous covers. Headrest on or off?

It's your rig, do what you like.....but they "look" better with the headrest on IMHO as long as they don't hamper visibility.

Definitely headrest on.

It could be argued that headrests protect your neck/head if you get rear ended.
