Most members are already aware of this, as it's been a part of the monthly meeting agenda now for a couple months. For everyone else, here's a little more info. This year's Rally will have a greater scope and vision, and is taking on a new life with a new name, new date, new format, new location, and most significantly a new committee that is excited to breathe new energy into this event.

All the good stuff from prior Rallys will continue; the swap meet, the show & shine, and the meet & greet reunion of local Toyota enthusiasts. New stuff (some still pending) will include more vendors, more giveaways, more food, more activities, more clubs, and more involvement from organizations who share our value of keeping access to trails open to motorized vehicles. In short, we've recognized that we are a part of a much larger local community of 4wheelers, campers, adventure seekers, vendors, service providers, and Toyota enthusiasts, and the event this year is an effort to embrace that, celebrate that, and promote this shared community through this Expo event, in the spirit of the Rising Sun and its core values and mission.

All you need to know today is the date is May 21st. Yup, same date as Expo west in Flagstaff and you can't do both. But you can still catch the Loveland version in August. Again this is a local event for local people with a very local agenda. Many more updates to come!

Would love to be a [small time] vendor or at least attend, but I won't be in town. Y'all got a habit of scheduling things I can't attend: Cruise Moab, Argentine Pass clean up, the Rally....

Maybe you are not prioritizing Rising Sun high enough in your life.

FWIW: Just some fun info, ideas and options for the up the coming event.

I went to this "mini adventure motorcycle expo" Saturday and had an incredible time. It was the release for the BDR Oregon route movie but, they combined it with a small parking lot expo with gear, bikes, 4wd's, camping gear, expo trailers and vendors. A Taco truck, brewery supplied beer and non-beer, a hamburger/fries food vendor, large social mingle area and a good number of donated raffle gifts. Before and after the movie they had Q/A's from expert riders and there was maybe +/- 200 people there in Berthod, Co on a Saturday night from 4p-11p.
It was promoted heavily on Facebook Groups/Events.

Nah ... I'll just be on the Kokopelli Trail that weekend
It'll be interesting to see trail reports since the scheduled MTB trips are starting in a couple of weeks and the SNOTEL sites still have snow on them. It's a race with Mother Nature this spring. Heck, winter just won't completely let go, a passing snow flurry here by the GJ airport now. Obviously no accumulation as it's just melting in the air above the warm ground.

Both La Sal SNOTEL sites are along Geyser Creek Rd, so south of Manns Peak while Kokopelli runs north of it. Still I think one can look at the Lower site as an analog, where you climb out of Beaver Mesa coming around Bull Canyon (about 8600') and Upper Procupine (about 8300') are roughly at the same elevation (it's 8783').

Late May will be fine but I'm betting the trips starting May 1 might have to detour on pavement from Onion Creek. If not snow still almost certainly very muddy.

Another way you can help spread the word is by adding a little link to your forum signature. I did this both here, and on ih8mud... super quick & easy.

Also feel free to print out your own fliers to hand out.

I'm going to need more flyers for this weekend!! That's a good issue to have!! I will be at the Toy Crawlers customer appreciation event on Saturday.
Link to that event:

If anyone is going to the Colorado Overland event in Castle Rock the same day, can you take some flyers to pass out?!

Really impressed on how this group has changed the event and made it so relevant to what our club does, the people around the club, the business we can help support and get to see what they do. I did the event the year before covid and found that it was a lot of work without a lot of return to the club or those that organized it. It's obvious to me that this isn't the case this year, the return and the showing should be huge. I'm kind of bummed that I have to work with a client that weekend, but I'm excited to see the results of how it went. Awesome job guys!

Thanks Phillip! Yes bummed you'll miss it, we already have 9 vendors signed up and roughly 50 attendees... should be pretty epic. And yes like you said, we've got a really great group working this behind the scenes, already some ideas for next year...

also thanks again for approving & insuring the whiskey blindfold hardcore relay race... that's gonna be an event of itself!
