I missed that discussion. Website claims all trucks they sell are legal imports. But I still don’t see how you get this one registered for HWY use.
It couldn't be imported at all as I understand it. You might could have it to "use on a farm" but it would never have a title.

I don't have much experience with farm implements to know if they have State-issued titles (they might if they get used on highways even tho they don't necessary get plates, I dunno). The little John Deere we owned had a VIN that came with a chain of ownership paperwork. I doubt that was a requirement but the dealer knew the first owner, the guy I bought it from, anyway.

Even when it does turn 25 you'd have to figure out a way to get it legally imported and being here already would jump the gun and probably raise flags with Customs.

I suspect you'd really have to be careful about what might be possible now but also in the future. You could easily have something that can never be registered or worse might be subject to confiscation and being crushed. That would really sting.

I think this guys ads have been discussed on mud and the guys who do importing for a living make it sound pretty shady what this guy is trying to do

Looks like a solid truck.

1992 Toyota Land cruiser FJ80 - $23,400 (Provo)

"I have a 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser for sale. All wheel drive. Off road ready suspension. Nearly new BFGoodrich all terrain tires with a full size spare. Original paint is partially faded with some imperfections. The sunroof is fully operational. A few tears in the front seats as pictured, but overall interior is in good condition. Original tool kit and bottle jack. Has a push button start. New steering fluid pump. Last year I changed all the fluids; transmission, diff lockers, steering fluid, etc. New oil filter and premium oil. New brake pads. New air intake hose. No engine lights are on. Comes with the roof rack. She's a reliable tank. Anywhere I've wanted to go, she's gotten me there. I never found a limit in this car. Last year I drove only 1,500 miles, and I feel someone else could give her a more adventurous life and put her to use. I'm moving and downsizing, and sadly this means selling old Surely Cruise. This car still has most of life ahead of it. In great shape for it's year.
Call or text anytime, Thanks"

I can’t see spending 23K on a 3FE.
I think at this point stoopid prices for vehicles they ain't making any more of is probably the reality. This seller will probably get his asking. I was watching a mini truck here locally and missed out on it the opportunity. Saw the lucky dude who got it from the original owner. He paid nearly twice what it sold for in 1992. If you're keeping score it went for $24k. For a 22R-E XtraCab. It was a survivor, no mods, very little rust, lowish miles (225k). But sheesh, base DLX, bench seat, no A/C. At those prices being first to call wouldn't matter.

I love how you consider 225k lowish miles :headbang:

Looks like a solid truck at a reasonable price. I was really tempted but notice that it's got a sunroof and is an automatic transmission.

It is showing as deleted by author already. Was it a really good deal or is the market just that hot?

It was a really nice build with nearly $40k in mostly Slee receipts listed at $29k, so it was a good deal for those ok with the 4 speed tranny and integrated nav/climate of the 2002.
