Hunter @OHUZJ100 came by and hung out and helped me drink some beers and tell me when my brake lights were on and talked about headers. Every little bit helps.

I'm going to have nothing left to do but plug in a battery really soon on my Land Cruiser. This has turned from exciting to terrifying.

Taking care of all the small odds and ends so I can test the EV system and spin the motor. I want to run the drivetrain up to speed, maybe 40-50 mph so I can check for vibrations. Will do it on the lift with the tires off the ground.

Got my diffs and t-cases all full of oil. @DomOfTheDead helped me install my Lokka auto-locker and we knocked it out in less than 2 hours. Hell yeah!

I got my t-case shift levers all sorted out. I had to weld a new bracket to the chassis to hold the factory t-case lever since it was bolted to the automatic trans originally. The Blackbox lever was pretty easy it fit nicely through the hole left by the auto shifter linkage. Twin sticks baby!

You have so much extra space under the hood of your Land Cruiser that it seems like you should come up with a cool use for it. Hot tub? Ice cream freezer? Portable composter?

That's where the batter is going to go!

what was specific about that leaf that made it the battery you wanted? are there super cheap options if I wanted to get modules for my golf cart to convert it from flooded lead acid to lithium? I don't need a lot of capacity just want to save some weight and do higher voltage for better wheelies and braking. Congratulations on getting the car moving, thats awesome I can't wait to see it in person sometime.

I've posted it a couple times but basically this is the largest capacity LEAF battery (30kwh) that is compatible with my hardware and it is the newest (2017) which means it has suffered less degradation than a 2016 battery of the same capacity.

On the LEAF there are long bars that indicate the current charge, and also small bars along the right-hand side of the range gauge that tell the health of the battery. They start out at 12/12 bars and as the battery ages they drop one by one. My 2015 battery is 10/12 bars for instance and the 2013 is 9/12. My new battery is 12/12 which means it's 95+% health. This is the reality of lithium batteries, they wear out and just get worse and worse without anyway to recover them.

Solar or other lower power draw applications will make them last a lot longer. What voltage does your golf cart run at? I may have a few extra cells for sale.

Ahh ok gotcha good info, sorry for making you repeat yourself. It runs on 48 volts or so now might bump it to 70 something in the future.
