About to install some trail tailor sliders on the 60. Any tips or tricks?

Wondering about positioning front-to-rear, u-bolt torque, and any common missteps.

Doubtful you'll have much adjustability, there's probably only one spot where all 3 plates touch the frame. Other than making sure you don't pinch a brake line under the U-Bolt, that's about it... if there is any up and down movement, I would put the slider as low as possible, they can squeak like crazy if the slider is really close.

Thanks Tim. Trail Tailor supplied me with standoffs for the brake and fuel lines, so the u-bolts now slip underneath them.

I was wondering about up/down movement. Looks like I'll have a 1/4". I'll set them by gravity and tighten down so they stay low.

Welp. Thinking about notching the skid plate here. I've got a muffler hanger bracket, a body mount, and the skid plate coming off the frame here.

Consider welding them on, if at all possible. No squeaks, much more stable and takes a beating and the weight of the vehicle.
I may do that in the long run. Today I'll bolt them on and test drive to see what I'm working with.

Talked to the Trail Tailor guy on Mud and I do have to notch the skid plate.

My old sliders were welded on. The clearance between the slider and the body was very tight. Whenever I had extra weight onboard in the back (either passengers or gear), it would rattle like crazy. This was only on the driver side. It took my years to figure out where the damn noise was coming from.

Cut off my old sliders this summer and bolted on some Slee step sliders. No more rattle. Much happiness.

Well, they are on and all is well. Don't use angle grinders in the dark though kids - My notch on the skid plate is a liiiiittle too close to the fastener hole for comfort. This skid has cracks and other damage anyway though. I'll swap it out with a good spare I have after I give it the rattle can treatment this weekend.

Clearance is good - not too close, not too far. Step functionality is good, especially for getting to the roof rack. My very short mom is going to appreciate the assist next time she visits.

Test drive later tonight. Will report back on any unwanted noises.

Mine are welded on, but properly has more space than you did. Without any noise, but my backseat squeaks quite a bit.😊

I believe your seat bumpers are in the mail - at least I shipped an order with your same last name. You should have gotten an email with the tracking number. 🙂
If anything comes up send me a message!

Wow, easy peasy 15 sec install on each side, solid. Highly recommended almost a must have, if lacking.

X2 on welding. Depending on how hard you are on them I usually plate the frame then weld them on.
