Hants, really sorry you had to bail with an unexpected emergency surgery. Glad to hear your on the mend!

I lost my positive attitude sometime later in the day...I at least had the sense to know I had to cut bait. Glad your trip ended a success!

To Perry and the rest of the 2021 GT Run, we had a great time even with the rain. Looks like we missed a really fun photo op on Saturday. Thank you to Perry for leading and organizing the event, it was a blast. We will have some photos loaded up once we get them sorted out.

We had a great time with a great crew out there. We left Denver a little after noon on thursay and tried to get as far as we could with kids napping. Eventually made our way through a gnarly little hail storm at the top of the San Louis valley and into Del Norte for dinner. Great communication by @RayRay27 and @Inukshuk to relay camp site info.

Woke up to an amazing view sitting right above an inversion. I didn't take any pictures of this but it was awesome with a cup of coffee. Made our way to the visitors center and onto the Bachelor Loop.

After a quick stop for lunch we headed up the "hard" trail to an amazing waterfall. Harry went on the Argentine clean up, but this was Katie's and August's (16 MO) first run with RS and and they really enjoyed it. Well August doesn't know any different, but he was having a good time.

Back in town we gladly passed on cooking dinner and got some grub supporting the local economy. After getting back to camp everyone pitched in to create a pretty awesome 3 awning + pop up rain shelter. I kept thinking the storm would pass and it would dry out... While rain might get you a little wet and make for a muddy campsite, there aren't many things I like more than getting warm in a sleeping bag and listening to the rain.

Saturday was a wet wake up and a little slow, but we made it down to explore the underground mining museum. Pretty cool and as others noted, informative, but short enough you don't lose interest. There was also a Scout International show going down in town. A community I certainly can appreciate. Cool rigs and some serious dedication.

We traveled with the group to a beautiful alpine lake (Crystal lake). Fun quick drive up. All the rain made for great wildflowers and very green meadows. While we missed out on the very cool looking Bristol Head, we decided to try and get 1/2 way home with the kids to avoid what would've been a very long Sunday. Found a group of 100 series guys outside of Salida and put up a late camp with @DomOfTheDead @Yarn Runner and @rover67 .

Thank you Perry for organizing the event and thanks again to everyone for welcoming us into your group. It was nice meeting everyone. My boys and I had a lot of fun. Will definitely plan to be back for next years event. I have some pics and videos but unfortunately my company laptop isn't letting me get the software to convert to jpeg. Once I am home, which will be on this Sunday, I will post them up. If there is interest, I can also post up a thread with some pics and videos of my Sequoia running Black Bear Pass.

For those of you who enjoyed the Square Peg Brewerks in Creede (and Alamosa), they are changing their name to "Spare Keg."
