My Craftsman two stage Snow Blower and 42" deck Lawn Tractor (I have an acre) are 13 years old. I always like to research stuff ahead of time rather than when they break so I don't make quick decisions I wont regret
I was expecting to have to get a John Deere Lawn Tractor eventually
I check the data on them every few years to see if anything has changed
I found that Ryobi, Club Cadet , EGO and a few others are making Lawn tractors that will hold a charge to do 2 acres. I have just leess than an acre so that will work for me
The Ryobi and EGO are the Zero Turn while the Club Cadet has both the Zero Turn and the standard lawn tractor
EGO
Ryobi
Club Cadet Zero Turn
Club Cadet Standard Lawn Tractor
There are other brands as well like Greenworks,
Looking at Snow Blowers I only found one 2 stage that is the same size as my current craftsman. I expect there to be more as time moves on
EGO Snow Blower
There are advantages to the Zero turn lawn mowers in speed, but I don't think it would make a big difference. They have pretty much the same deck so its just turning quicker and going faster. It seems like its more work to maneuver than with the steering wheel on thee Lawn Tractor
My current Lawn Tractor also serves as a snow plow in the winter (I have a big driveway). 3-4 inches is much easier with the plow, but it can't handle much more so why I need the Snow Blower as well
The Ego Zero Turn and Ego Snow Blower share the same batteries so you could have backups on the snow blower when it runs low. In always do my neighbors driveway tooo as she is in her 60's. I would definitely need extra batteries and even more so in big storms. The Lawn Tractor comes with 4 (Can upgrade to 6), the snow blower comes with two at a smaller capacity but still interchangeable. So these as a combination would have a lot of value, I would just lose the snow plow capability
I am not ready to buy as my Craftsman units are still working fine. Thought I would post here for information. They are expensive, but not that much more than a good John Deere or a good Ariens Snow Blower
A current topic though with the discussion on Home solar. If I go Solar on my home and may move forward here and put my Craftsman's up for sale. Thats at least a next Spring discussion and should be more online reviews of these products by then
