Man what an absolutely beautiful day. I had to split a little early, but had a great time.

Man-o-man huge shout out to Scott Yoder for taking on such a huge run. I lost count at 31 rigs.

Hey Dom, your pictures are showing up as attachments rather than displaying in the forum. I can open and view the attachments but they aren't just being displayed in the forum software.

Thanks allot to Scott for organizing. Considering the size of our group it easily could've gotten out of hand with frustrated people, but everyone seemed to be happy and having a great time all day. I only took one picture at the end with the last few of us at the top.

Excellent run! Had a blast, and it was awesome to meet some new people as well as see some familiar faces.

Many thanks to Scott for putting this together! I’ll post up some pics and video tomorrow.

What a great time! Huge kudos to Scott for putting this together, grabbing probably 60 lbs of burritos and some how making a smooth day with suck a large group! Marshé and I had a great day! Met some new people and saw some old friends.

Thanks Scott for another great Snow Run, can’t believe how smoothly it went considering the size of the group and icy hill climbs. Speaking of hill climb, I think Jackson probably had the slide of the day. When they say what ever goes up must come down, Jackson flew down that right side faster than anyone else. All I could say was hang on and enjoy the ride. Better throw your shorts away after that ride. Wish I had my camera for that one.

It was a fun ride :). I was about 3ft from making it lol. I laughed a little when you said hold on and enjoy the ride. Cheers!

That was another fun run with everyone. I felt a little bad for Tim and Jackson (and others) in the rear that got held up on the initial ice hill with the rear group and ended bailing out early. I appreciated Alex and you guys helping Frankie who was late with his chains and all. I was able to meet back up with Frankie at the playground. He did well with his chains on the rear and all the kids had fun. Including my girlified Kathy.

We basically had three ice hills that gave people problems. The one before York Gulch rd. Just after the middle parking lot and just before the Quarry. Of course it got worse after more people spun out on it. People with newish tires or chains didn’t have a problem with some momentum. For example, I winched an open 80 with worn MTR’s all the up the quarry section. He could not get any traction. I set up a snatch block winch setup on the hill before the quarry and got at least half the group thru that. I could hear no one else on the 3 radios coming up at that point so I moved on. The big drifts were all pretty much beat down. I personally never had to winch or get strapped somehow. My new Cooper STT’s were really hooking up. I was the first one into the playground but passed on the berm. It was large and hadn’t been taking down. Missed Uncle Ben and Treeroot on that one.

We made to all the way to the top with the main group with only minor strapping issues along the way (as far as I know). The views were fantastic and I gave out more burritos. Karie had already passed out her vegi burros and I only end up with a few left. So that worked out well. Bruce L. took a group down into Fall River road without incident. We had a broken shock to remove. FCDan assisted with that. He strapped an 80 from his front ARB with a poor strap and tweaked his bumper out quite a bit. Treeroot, Ken and Perry finally made it up to the top from the rear. Then we headed back down.

I was coming down the slick hill just before the middle parking lot and came across a built jeep in the middle of the ice patch putting chains on. I honked my horn and tried to stop – which made me go faster. He and his kids scrambled out of the way thank goodness and I slid thru the ruts directly into him at a pretty good rate of speed. Our bumpers matched up pretty well and our air bags didn’t go off fortunately. I somehow didn’t have any damage. His bumper had some. He seemed to know he was in the wrong and we were cordial about the incident. He finished putting his chains on and backed down out of the way for us. Whew… I might send someone walking down those spots with a radio in the future. There was still a fair about of traffic coming up the road late in the afternoon on a Sunday believe it or not.

That is. Snow Run 2021 in the books!

Jeff, I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure this out. My best guesses:
  • the photos are very large (from a digital SLR camera) and the forum won't display them inline for this reason
  • the photos were uploaded in an unusual way and "thumbnails" didn't get created. Not sure why this would be, but clearly something is amiss.
@DomOfTheDead -- how did you upload the photos?

So, it looks like I'm missing four handheld FRS radios. I've heard from @KC Masterpiece and @denvermike, but I'm not sure where the other two radios went. I think @Hulk might have one.

If whoever has them could reach out to me via DM here on the forum, or you can text/email me (contact info is listed on the radio), that would be awesome!

You may want to cross post in the trip planning section, a few have been responding to the trip there.

I got to pull some people out, got pulled out, played traffic light and all around had a great time. My dog is totally worn out also bonus points! I still can't believe none of those side by sides didn't hit anyone when they shot down the ice hill. Props to @Shuksan for not needing any recovery all day!
