Just reserved a spot on the new opening day - June 13th.
The nice lady said they just decided on the date change this week and are working out the details.
She said tHey may have to change opening day again depending on “stuff”.

Opening Day June 13th? Sounds like it could be a shit-show that weekend...I believe I'm backing out. We'll be there next year!

It'll either be crazy busy or a ghost town.

You're probably right....But spending a couple of days taking pictures of empty tracks, and then riding the train just in time to hurry back the next day doesn't do anything for me. Better off waiting it out and doing it the following year.

Now if this year run holds off until later....I would most likely be back in the game....

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Commission just finished their telephone call-in meeting this morning.

The Commission approved the 2020 operating schedule with the June 13th start date.

At the end of the approval vote they said that the states will still have to give final approval for the schedule.

It could be a really interesting season to ride if they implement social distancing on the train. One person every six feet in all the cars? Talk about elbow room! And so much extra room to take photos without having a bunch of people in your way.

Was really looking forward to a summer run on the C&TS, but with my current developments, will most likely have to reschedule this run.

Hey all,

So after some thought, i've decided it's best that we hold off on this run till things become a bit more certain. Was really looking forward to having this run in early summer again but hopefully well still get to do it at some point.... Planning on doing something that weekend still, just may be a bit closer to home. Will start a new thread for that.

I'm in for the closer to home thing as long as it involves ICPR. :hill:

Perry, put us down as "participants" if you reschedule the train run for later in the year.

Was hopping to have the Solstice party again up there but just don't know if that's a good thing or not this year....

Will do Kurt!

I'm in for the closer to home adventure. I was trying to figure out how to make the train run and I have a deal closing Friday mid-day.

I have been exploring some great northern Colorado trails and I'm about to publish the Chillin & Grillin Schedule!

New state "Safer At Home" has eliminated the 10 mile suggested limitation: ""Individuals may participate in local and personal recreation in outside public spaces, as an authorized Necessary Activity, in groups no larger than 10 and practicing social distancing maintaining 6 feet between participants. Travel should occur within an individual’s local community *** or as necessary to access outdoor recreation areas.*** If traveling outside their community, Coloradans are urged to honor all restrictions in place at their destination and avoid travel to counties or municipalities that issue travel restrictions."
