Default Jenny Creek Workday 2017

Hi All,

Last night we had a good group of folks that came up to camp on Rollins pass road, the weather held out and we had a great time telling stories and developing the plan for today. We also had a great campfire and great tasty beverages. It was a great evening to catch up and relax.

Today we had a great day up at Jenny Creek/Rollins Pass today that consisted of lots of work on post and cable, route control around Boulder Wagon Road, trash pickup, and installing signage on the route. Kariann, Jared, and Zach from the Forest Service joined us and were extremely grateful and happy with our contributions up there.

We split into two groups, one running Jenny Creek up and the other heading up straight to the top to get started with the heavy work. I really want to way thanks to all the folks that came out to help out and especially the ones that headed up to the top to get started, you all did a ton of work up there before we even made it there. Also big thanks to Kevin for helping coordinate, run it, and keeping good communication with the FS all year as we build toward the workdays. You're a great partner in this!

We had a lot of veterans out there as well as some new folks. I hope you all found it rewarding as well as fun!!!

Please post up your photos and let me know what you thought of the day.

Thanks again,

Good deal, guys!
I'm bummed I didn't get to make it up there. (Again)
Looks like you had a good day. Thanks for all the hard work on our trails.

thanks again for all the effort Marco and Uncle Ben, it's impressive to see all we've done up there over the years. And camping on Friday was fun, cool we had the place to ourselves for the most part. only took one picture.. morning shot of Cheeseman..

To echo the sentiments of others, thank you Marco and Kevin for all the work you do to keep this trail open. We got a lot of work done Saturday, and we had some good fun, too. I thought it went pretty smooth overall. Man, digging holes up there is an adventure. It took us about 45 minutes to get the new sign up!

Thanks to everybody how came out to help. Spreading the workload really makes a difference (although it seems like Kevin did about half of it himself).

Thanks Marco and UB for coordinating as always. Looks like a bunch got done and some fun was had. Sorry we were out of town this year, we all enjoyed the last one.

New sign looks great!

We all worked hard and efficiently! I'm just more visible!

Thanks you all who took part in the workday! You make me proud to be affiliated! Because of what we do our efforts have made a difference! As mentioned, if RS didn't put in the effort we have Jenny creek would only be a hiking and cross country ski trail! Bill Morgan put tremendous effort and time into selling BRD on the idea of letting us try to help keep it open. They were reluctant and made it clear it was an experiment and they had no intention of letting anyone "Adopt" the trail. Be proud Rising Sun!

Wow we did it again. Rising Sun shined once more. Great campfire on Friday night. And great work for our friends at the Forest Service. And Kevin you and I both fill up a photo. But who can keep up with your work effort. Marco.....many thanks for keeping this effort very much alive in the repertoire of the Rising Sun.
