The hill was steep, the dog stayed warm, the ride out was beautiful.

We also all learned a lot:

- if 20 PSI fails, try 15
- ways to use maxtrax (they rock!)
- snatching
- make sure your shackles fit your bumper
- tires DO matter (Dan's new Super Swampers for the win)
- good radios matter and HAM matters most

That spot needs to be forever known as "the Subaru Parking Lot".

Below's what I took while I wasn't stuck...
1. First hill queue. Not a bad view to have to stare at all day.
2. Dash board Christmas tree lights
3. During a history lesson from Daniel on our way to get pizza.

Sooooo, do maxtrax actually help out on a run like that? Are they faster than a strap?

Curious, that is all.

Hugely helpful. Its always a selection of the appropriate tool for the job, and nice to have choices.

If they are kept handy, they are faster than a strap.
You can often self recover.
You can use them where there are no winch anchors.
You really need 4, so they get pricey pretty fast.
